Now in its twelfth year, Sing This Summer offers one-week programs for people who love to make music. All our programs aim to provide a fun musical, social, and recreational experience while expanding musical skills. Our programs give participants the opportunity to explore the full range of their musical abilities in a fun and welcoming environment. Students will gain the opportunity to challenge themselves in a fostering and creative place. We always end the week with a presentation of our work.

Sing This Summer also offers a four-day program for adult singers. This program aims to give adults the experience of singing in multiple genres and disciplines that are all designed for maximum enjoyment and personal growth. Our program focuses on building vocal skills in solo, small group, and large ensemble technique.

Quotes from past participants & parents

"The best part of Sing This Summer is bonding with people of all ages about a common interest, music! To grow and develop your voice with all these other people who love what you love is a fantastic experience." - Emmet, age 12, SING! Jr. & SING! camper of 6 years

"I love working with these enthusiastic young people. It’s beautiful to see them learning about music and enjoying themselves while doing it!  You are doing a wonderful service for these kids, getting them involved with singing and string playing.  Well done!" - Mallorie, faculty member and parent of Martie, age 14, SING! camper

"I cannot imagine not doing this." SING! is the highlight of my year. It is the most precious gift of my year. There is nothing like SING!. Truly." - Reka, faculty member and parent of Isidor, age 10, SING! Jr. camper

"We were so impressed with your string camp in Anna’s first year: the tone, organization, camaraderie, highest calibre teaching, leadership and more. But you blew us away even more this year! The growth Anna felt and we could hear from her week with Jules (bass instructor), the breadth of new musical experiences, and the feeling of musical collaboration and support were extraordinary. Thank you for giving Anna such a formative, happy and memorable experience. Jules, especially, made what I think will be a lifelong impression on Anna personally and in her musical life." - Ellen, parent of Anna, age 11, Strings@Amherst camper of 3 years

Location

For over ten years our programs have taken place on the beautiful Amherst College campus in Amherst, MA. We utilize the Arms Music Center for our core classes, eat in the on-campus dining hall, swim in the pool, and run around on the athletic fields. We stay overnight in a recently renovated dormitory. Students also have the option to take small walking trips into downtown Amherst (accompanied by counselors) and explore the cafes, bookstores, and small shops in the town.

Now in our fourth year at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME,  we hold classes in classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and dormitories, including Chamberlain Hall and Coles Tower. Students eat in the on-campus summer dining hall, swim in the pool, and have the option to take walking trips to downtown Brunswick (accompanied by counselors) to explore the quaint offerings of the small town.

SING! Adult has run in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and soon Pennsylvania. At all campuses participants enjoy classes in beautifully renovated spaces, eat in the on-campus dining facilities, and stay overnight in dormitories.
